Infrared inspection of electrical distribution systems is one of the most popular applications for thermal imaging. On any given day, thermal imaging is used to detect evidence of a wide variety of hidden problems in facilities worldwide. The success of an infrared inspection relies not only upon proper interpretation of data, but also the proper planning and execution of the work. This presentation will focus on how to properly plan and execute an infrared inspection of a typical electrical system along with requirements for generating a standards-compliant report.
In addition to current industry practices and standards, this course will cover pre-inspection planning, safety, inspection techniques, and the tools required for diagnosing the root cause of exceptions.
