Description

For several years, the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) has published two documents that apply to thermographers who perform infrared inspections of energized electrical systems.  NFPA 70B Recommended Practice for Electrical Equipment Maintenance was extensively revised and republished as a standard in 2023.  This document now mandates infrared inspections be performed annually for commercial, industrial, institutional, and multifamily facilities.  NFPA 70E Standard for Electrical Safety Requirements for Employee Workplaces specifies safe work practices for those who work on or near energized electrical equipment including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).  This course focuses on the history and application of NFPA 70B and NFPA 70E and how they affect practicing thermographers.

This course is a must for anyone who wishes to understand and comply with these important documents.
