Temperature has long been used to assess the condition of operating electrical and mechanical systems.  Elevated operating temperatures are often caused by component defects or improper operation of the subject system.  Regardless of cause, excess operating temperature can significantly shorten the life of installed equipment and lead to premature failure.  This course will discuss temperature limits for electrical and mechanical equipment along with several time tested methods for setting operational temperature limits.

Instructor

R. James Seffrin is a Level III Certified Infrared Thermographer® and Director of Infraspection Institute located in Burlington, NJ. He has over 40 years’ experience in performing infrared inspections for a wide variety of commercial, industrial, and residential applications. He is a co-author of several industry standards and is qualified as an expert witness on the subject of thermography.
